Triumph Motorcycles has launched a new version of its mid-weight adventure motorcycle- Tiger XR in India. Priced at Rs. 10.5 lac (ex-showroom, Delhi), it is now the most affordable make in the Triumph Tiger range. Instead of being a seriously off-roading focused motorcycle like the XC and XCx models of the range, this new offering is more like an adventure tourer.

Powering the new Triumph Tiger XR is the same 800cc, liquid-cooled, inline-triple motor, which comes mated to a 6-speed transmission. Coupled to an electronic fuel injection system, the torque-laden engine makes power up to 94bhp at 9,250rpm and delivers torque up to 79Nm at 7,850rpm.

The Tiger 800 XR comes with features like traction control and ride-by-wire technology, which makes it a very advanced motorcycle in the respective segment. It has 19" front alloy wheel with 43mm inverted telescopic forks from SHOWA, which give it the ability to tackle any kind of road. The rear gets an SHOWA mono-shock suspension with hydraulically adjustable preload, providing better comfort on long rides.

High-performance braking system combines dual 308mm disc brakes at the front and a 255mm disc brake at the rear. Safety increases with a switchable ABS (Anti-lock Braking System), which also comes as a standard feature with the motorcycle. It also has some unique features like Trip Computer, 12V power socket and adjustable brake/clutch levers, enhancing the level of convenience during long rides.
