Suzuki Motorcycles India Limited (SMIL) had unveiled its new 150cc naked sport model- Gixxer in India at the 2014 Indian Auto Expo. Now, an Indonesian website- otomotif.kompas claims to leak the specifications of the bike, which says about the power and torque figures of this upcoming machine. According to the report, the bike will deliver 13.9PS of maximum power and a peak torque of 13.4Nm using a 150cc single cylinder engine. These power figures are almost similar to the existing Suzuki GS150R, which comes with a 149.5cc SOHC engine, without SEP (Suzuki Eco Performance).

Earlier, the bike was said to sport an all new 155cc mill equipped with the company's latest SEP technology, which has been also used in the latest 110c scooter Suzuki Let's. Commonly, all the 110cc scooter in the Indian market delivers a maximum power around 8bhp, thanks to SEP that the new Let's churns out a best-in-class maximum power of 8.7bhp. So, we were expecting that the Gixxer will deliver more than 15bhp.

However, official specifications are still under the cover, and we can expect it to deliver a higher power and an impressive mileage compared to other bikes in the segment. Being a naked sport motorcycle, Suzuki Gixxer gets an aggressive styling with a bold headlamp, masculine fuel tank, dual stage seat and minimised body work. The bike gets a dual exhaust pipe with chrome garnishing which serves as the most attractive design feature of the bike.

Suzuki Gixxer will come with telescopic forks at the front, while the rear will get advance mono-shock suspension. Unique 17-inch split-spoke alloys will come covered with wide 140/60 tyre at the rear and 100/80 at the front. Braking system combines a 240mm disc and a 130mm drum brake on the front and rear wheel respectively.

The bike is speculated to be priced comparatively similar to its rival- Yamaha FZ series, which will help the bike to compete in the market of existing 150cc offerings.
