Splendor iSmart Becomes the Most Fuel Efficient Bike in the World with 102.50 Km/L

The country’s largest two-wheeler manufacturer, Hero MotoCorp has shown continuous efforts in making its vehicles better and better in every aspect. The hard work paid off well as the latest variant of Splendor returned a commendable fuel economy of 102.50kmpl, as claimed by the recent March 2015 Fuel Efficiency (FE) values. With this figure, the world’s best-selling motorcycle also acquires the record for world’s best fuel economy for a production motorcycle. The values are certified by iCat (International Centre for Automotive Technology) and obtained in the mandatory emission test specified in Rule 115 of the Central Motor Vehicle Rules (CMVR) 1989.

Hero MotoCorp Splendor iSmart comes with a unique i3s (Idle Stop and Start System) that shuts off the engine in case of idling conditions and automatically restarts it when the rider presses the clutch lever. This revolutionary technology made the bike achieve that global benchmark with ease. The motorcycle registers impressive sales with over 3 lac units sold already since its launch that took place about a year back. The bike is a proud member of the legendary Splendor series that leads the worldwide two-wheeler category with over 2 million unit sales each year.

The bike houses a 100cc, four-stroke, air-cooled, single cylinder OHC mill that churns out a peak power of 7.69bhp with a maximum torque of 8.04Nm. The company has enhanced its aesthetic value by incorporating features like stylish alloy wheels, attractive graphics and a stunning instrument console. Hero MotoCorp Splendor iSmart is available at the dealerships in four exciting colours namely, Sports Red, Leaf Green, Excellent Blue and Heavy Grey.
