Seven New Products from Honda to be launched in Indonesia in 2012

Astra Honda Motors (AHM), Honda's Indonesian subsidiary, has announced that it will be launching seven new variants of Honda in Indonesian two-wheeler market. According to authentic sources of company, these new products will include the latest fleet of Honda scooters and Honda bikes that will be designed according to the requirements of bike riders in Indonesia. It is reported that major concentration will be on introduction of Honda CBR 150R and Honda CBR 250R in sports segment. The launch of new fleet of vehicles constitutes Honda’s expansion plans in Indonesian auto market.

According to sources of AHM, it has targeted to sale 4.8 million units of Honda variants in Indonesia. It is also reported that AHM is speculating to integrate fuel injection technology in all its variants launched in Indonesia by end of year 2013.  There are reports revealing that AHM will be investing Rs. 104 billion (Rs. 6 million) on production of Honda 2012 scooters in Indonesian market that will raise production capacity of its scooters to 200,000 units by end of 2012. AHM is also exploring opportunities to cater demand of its scooters in Indonesia followed by analyzing opportunities for increasing demand of Honda bikes in Indonesian market. The launch of new variants in Indonesian market will strengthen Honda’s position in Indonesian market.

As far as integration of fuel injection technology is concerned, Honda is speculating to energize all its variants in Indonesian market with it. The assimilation of fuel injection technology is designed to compete with strict emission norms. However, augmentation of this technology increases the production cost of variants. According to the company sources, Honda speculates to invest Rs 250,000 on introduction of fuel injection technology on its vehicles. The first variant to be introduced by Honda will the fuel injected scooter Honda Vario 125cc, which is expected to be 25% fuel-economic as compared to other scooters.
