Bajaj Avenger 220

As reported earlier, Bajaj Auto is going to rock this festive season with the new models under its popular cruiser brand- Avenger. Though, we are still not sure about the two new models of the bike, however, the updated version of the existing 220cc motorcycle has been spotted at a dealership. Updates in the new Bajaj Avenger 220 looks inspired by the Harley-Davidson Street 750 and it gets a Dark Custom Theme like the latest Pulsar RS 200 Demon Black.

There are some major cosmetic changes in the New Bajaj Avenger and some of the most significant updates are the new 12-spoke alloy wheels, digital odo and trip meter, muffler and rear grab rail. The bike gets a perfect all black theme, which covers almost every part of the bike including the disc brake mounting, wheels, engine, suspension set-up, handlebar, exhaust, headlamp and much more. The iconic pillion back-rest of the Avenger also seems to be replaced with a black rear grab rail.

It seems that the engine propelling the new Bajaj Avenger 220 will be most probably be the same 219.89cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled, DTS-i engine, which powers the existing model. The motor comes with an oil-cooler and makes 18.8bhp of maximum power and a peak torque of 17.5Nm. However, the performance figures of the upgraded model could be different from the existing one.

Most of the mechanical details of the new Bajaj Avenger are same as the existing version like the telescopic front forks, hydraulic rear shock absorbers, 260mm front disc brake, 130mm rear drum brake, 90/90 x 17” front and 130/90 x 15” rear tyres. However, the price of the new Avenger 220 could be slightly higher than that of the existing one. The bike still doesn't have any direct competitor in the market as no other cruiser comes under a price of Rs. 1 lac. However, this new Avenger might affect the sales of Royal Enfield Motorcycles.
