Bajaj Avenger Cruise

Bajaj Auto today launched the much awaited range of new cruisers under the Avenger nameplate. The Pune-based manufacturer rolled out three Avenger models namely 220 Street, 220 Cruise and 150 Street. While the Street models are based on Harley Davidson Street 750 styling, the 220 Cruise resembles the existing model with more amount of chrome. The bikes have been priced competitively at Rs. 75,000 for 150 Street and Rs. 84,000 for 220 Street and 220 Cruise (all prices ex-showroom, Delhi).

Commenting on the launch Mr. Eric Vas, President – Motorcycle Business, Bajaj Auto Ltd, said “The genuine cruiser segment has steadily grown over the years with  the Avenger as the torch bearer. We expect that by bringing in an additional style  variant such as the Street, and by offering the popular 150cc capacity, we will significantly  expand the cruiser segment. With the new Avenger models joining the immensely successful Pulsar range, Bajaj Auto shall strengthen our offerings to discerning customers in the Indian market, and reinforce Bajaj Auto’s leadership in the premium motorcycle segment.”

Bajaj Avenger 220 Street and 150 Street comes wrapped in an all-black theme that seems majorly inspired from the Harley Davidson Street 750. Furthermore, the black alloy wheels have also been added to the package to give a premium touch. The fuel tank gets a chrome badging and clear lens turning blinkers that add a more sophisticated feel. On the other hand, the Avenger 220 Cruise belongs more on the chromy side and resembles the existing model. The side of the fuel tank section, instrument cluster mounting on the tank, the engine compartment and exhaust, all have been given a chromed treatment to enhance the overall styling. Talking of power, both bikes come powered by the same 220cc, air-cooled engine with oil cooler that empowers the existing version.  Earlier, there were speculations that Bajaj might equip these bikes with 200cc liquid-cooled mill that used to come in the discontinued Pulsar 200NS.
