Mahindra Two Wheelers registered 131 percent growth in May 2014

Mahindra Two Wheelers Ltd. (MTWL), the emerging indian two wheeler brand, has registered a tremendous domestic sales growth of 131% in May 2014. The company’s domestic sales stood at 15878 units during May 2014, as against 6858 units during May 2013. Overall sales of the company stood at 16824 units during the month with an export figure of 946 units.

Speaking on the monthly performance, Chief of Operations, Mahindra Two Wheelers, Mr. Viren Popli said, “We are happy to maintain the demand momentum of our 2-wheeler division during May 2014 with a growth of 131% in the domestic market, which is indicative of the growing acceptance of our product portfolio especially our flagship brand, the Centuro. With a positive upsurge in socio-economic sentiments and on the back of improved demand, we hope to remain on the growth trajectory going ahead”.

 

Mahindra entered the motorcycle segment with Stallio as its first model followed by the Pantero, both of which doesn't succeed to leave an impact on the dynamics of the Indian market. Then the company launched its feature loaded commuter- Centuro at a very affordable price in 2013, which got a huge success and increased the sales figures of the company. The company proposed the new bike to the buyers of commuter segment with many class above features like foldable remote flip key fob with light, find me lamps, guide lamps, anti-theft alarm and a more refined engine with MCi-5 technology.

 

Mahindra Two wheelers is also working on development of some new products according to the current market trend. Upcoming products of the company will be a 300cc entry level performance roadster- Mojo 300, a 110cc automatic scooter- G101 (code name), a strip down version of its commuter series and a 150cc premium motorcycle. These new models will help the company to further improve their sales figure.
