Mahindra & Mahindra is the king of utility vehicles in India. But after the successful launch of a premium 110cc commuter Centuro, Mahindra is also focusing on the Indian 2-wheeler market. Their previous bikes- Stallio and Pantero failed to create impression in India. However, their newly launched Centuro got a huge response and proved as a boon for the company. In a very short span of one month after the launch, Mahindra has sold more than 10,000 units of Centuro. The reason behind the positive response for the bike is its advanced features, which are used first time in the Indian commuters segment at a low price tag.

Mahindra Pantero

This success in the market encouraged Mahindra to increase their range. So, now they are planning for a strip down version of their 110cc commuters. Mahindra is testing a 110cc budget bike, which has been spotted in Pune. The bike will be cut price version of their Pantero and supposed to be launched by end of this year. The bike might come with some features of the Centuro to attract people, but some advanced features might be dropped so to keep the prices in check. The 106.7cc Mci-5 engine will remain the same and the bike will be cosmetically modified to reduce the cost.

This new bike is expected to be priced below Pantero. So, the new bike will compete with the other existing budget commuters like- Hero Moto Corp HF Dawn, TVS Star City, Yamaha Alba and Bajaj Platina. The company is also planning for more powerful bikes in other segments by next year. But first, they want to make a place for them in the market through these commuter bikes. They are also planning to bring in their 300cc Mojo to India.
