Mahindra 2 Wheelers has come up with an innovative concept of 100cc bike for Indian market. It will be the first of its kind in India. With this launch, company would be able to create a unique niche in the market.

At present there are three major segments in the motorcycle industry i.e. Economy, executive and premium. With 100cc bike launch in India, Mahindra & Mahindra will be able to create a new segment in the market. Maximum sales happen in 125cc-150cc segment.

Mahindra & Mahindra official commented that the company wanted to work upon low cost bikes. They have made a plan to make 100cc bikes to manufacture efficient and low cost bikes.

The details about the product are not yet out. The officials denied for disclosing any details about the bike.

Indian two wheeler market is being ruled by three major players ie Bajaj Auto, TVS motors and Hero Honda. Where TVS controls 80% of the market.

M&M entered the two wheeler segment two years back when it took over the operating assets of Kinetic Motors for Rs 110 crore. Scooters like Flyte and Rodeo are manufactured by Mahindra 2 Wheelers. In the month of September, Mahindra 2 Wheelers sold 16,569 scooters.

Last year Hero Honda said that they want to explore cheaper bikes for the Indian motorcycle market. Probably with a plan of 'nano bike'.

The segment of 100cc is not yet been explored by any other brand yet. This can give a huge advantage to the company. In this competitive world, M&M can excel by carving out a new niche for itself.

Detailing the two-wheeler strategy of M&M, an official said that a major part of Mahindra 2 Wheelers’ income will come from the motorcycle segment.

Few groups can identify as closely with India's destiny and industrial progress as the Mahindra Group. In fact, Mahindra is like a microcosm of India. Both were born around the same time, had the same aspirations and both experienced the inevitable troughs and crests in the journey towards their goals. And both continue to march on the path to progress and global recognition.
