Mahindra Two Wheelers Limited offers only two commuter motorcycles- Centuro and Pantero in various trims and a few scooter models in the Indian market. Now, the company might be planning to bring further low cost motorcycle in the market to compete with the offerings like Hero HF-Dawn, Bajaj CT 100 and other entry level commuters. And the upcoming motorcycle could be the Mahindra Arro, which has been spotted testing here recently.

Mahindra Arro is the the least cost motorcycle from the company offered in Uganda currently. It is a utility bike based on the Pantero’s base model, and the changes are in just headlamp and rear grab rail. The angular head lamp and bikini fairing has been replaced with a classic type round headlamp, while a steel bar type rear grab rail with luggage carrier has replaced the aluminium type one. The Arro has a very basic, twin-pod style instrument cluster, which gets speedometer, odometer and other tell tale lights. Rear view mirrors of the bike are also not angular but gets a round shape.

Apart from these changes, Mahindra Arro is exactly similar to the Pantero and uses the same 110cc, air-cooled, single-cylinder, MCi-5 engine with a 4-speed gearbox. The carburetted engine makes 8.5bhp of maximum power at 7,500rpm and a peak torque of 8.5Nm at 5,500rpm. It is a low cost motorcycle, so we can’t expect it to come with an electric start option with it.

Other equipment of the bike include telescopic front forks, spring loaded adjustable hydraulic dampers at the rear, a comfortable petrol tank pad, extra-long seat, stylish LED tail lamp and much more. We believe that the company will offer this motorcycle with spoke wheels. However, you can see a weird thing in the test bike that front wheel is alloy, while the rear is steel spoke type. So, it might also get an alloy wheel trim. Cost of the motorcycle will be highly competitive and it is expected to be  priced under Rs. 40,000.
