Indian Motorcycle Opens New Dealership in Gujarat, 6th in India

Indian Motorcycle has inaugurated a new dealership in Ahmedabad, Gujarat. It is the sixth dealership by the American bike manufacturer in India. The dealership, ‘Westside Quads and Bikes’, is located near Sanathal Overbridge, Sarkhej - Bavla Highway, Ahmedabad - 382210. It is spread across an area of 3,000 sq. ft. and displays the entire Indian Motorcycle’s lineup which includes Indian Roadmaster, Indian Chief Dark Horse, Indian Chief Classic, Indian Chief Vintage, Indian Chieftain and Indian Scout. This new dealership is a step forward by the brand towards increasing its foothold in the country and give a tough competition to its strongest rival, Harley-Davidson. Indian has five other dealerships in the country which are located in Mumbai, Hyderabad, Chennai, Bangalore and Gurgaon.

At the inauguration, Mr. Pankaj Dubey, Managing Director, Polaris India Pvt. Ltd., said, "The growing awareness for our brand among enthusiasts and the potential of this market made it an obvious choice for us to expand our footprint in Gujarat. It is a natural progression for us since Indian Motorcycle is a well-established brand in Ahmedabad with a number of customers already present in the city."

Mr. Vikram V. Shah, Dealer, Managing Partner, West India Auto Pvt. Ltd., said, "Historic but contemporary, modern yet classic, it is a matter of great pride to be associated with the iconic Indian Motorcycle. This new dealership is designed to enhance product accessibility and desirability among bike aficionados in the region."

Recently, Indian Motorcycle also unveiled its new entry-level motorcycle, Indian Scout Sixty, at the Milan Motorcycle Show (EICMA). Indian has announced the bike for the European market with a price tag of £8,999 (Rs. 6.35 lac). If compared to the existing Indian Scout in India, the Sixty can be differentiated by its different saddle, extended reach bars and foot controls, spoke wheels and mini-ape handlebar. The bike is powered by a new 999cc (60 cubic inches), liquid-cooled, V-twin engine and it is expected to arrive in India next year.
