Honda Sales Slumped by 2 percent in September 2015

Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India (HMSI), has registered drop in sales of its products by 2 percent for the month of September in 2015 as compared to the sales in the same month last year. The Japanese manufacturer sold 4,30,732 units of a two-wheeled machine in September this year while it had sold 4,38,479 units in the corresponding month last year (which is 7,747 units less).

The company has recorded a decrease of 18 percent in the sales of motorcycle segment with 32,198 lesser units sold when compared with the figures of the same month previous year. So, simply put the number of vehicles sold dropped to 147,258 units last month from 1,79,456 units in September 2014.

However, on the other hand, the company reported 9.6 percent increase in sales of a scooter and it managed to sell 23,261 units more for the same period in 2015. In fact, in the first half of this current fiscal year, the manufacturer has sold 22.72 lac units. According to the reports, HMSI registered the export growth by 6.6 percent which means the numbers of units sold rose from 17,899 units to 19,089 units.

HMSI is among leading and fastest growing two-wheeler manufacturers in the country and shares 27 percent domestic market. Though, for the month of September business, was not very promising but keeping in mind the upcoming festive season, Honda is all set to launch the new and stylish CB Hornet 160R. The company hopes that with this bike they will be able to attract the young devotees of two-wheeled machines.
