"The first quarter was good for the industry as it grew by 14 per cent. But our company's growth was 34 per cent which is two and half time more than the industry's growth," said HMSI Vice President-Sales & Marketing, Yadvinder S Guleria said.

Guleria said in scooter segment, the company grew by 32 per cent while in case of motor cycles segment, the growth was 35 per cent. HMSI is eyeing sales volume of 45 lakh units in current fiscal as against its sales of 37.21 lakh units in 2013-14. "Out of total sales, scooters will have 55 per cent share while 45 per cent will be bikes," he said.

HMSI's product portfolio includes 5 scooters and 10 bikes. About sports bikes, Guleria said the company will start manufacturing CBR 650 F in India next year. "Its price will be priced less than Rs 7 lakh which if we import costs Rs 13 lakh," he said.

The total market for super bikes is estimated to be 1,000 units a year, he said. "The market for such bikes is growing, though duty is very high on it," he said. He further said the company will roll out 160 CC bike this year, though he refused to divulge pricing of the bike to be launched. "We have decided to launch one model every quarter," he said.
