Honda CBR 650F was spotted doing rounds at the Buddh International Circuit (BIC) a couple of weeks back in Delhi. Maintaining itself in headlines, the highly anticipated bike was again recently spied at a dealership in Indore in a fascinating red and white livery. The machine has been successful in creating a huge amount of hype right since its unveiling at the 2014 Indian Auto Expo. With this, the wait for all those who were desperately waiting to get their hands on the bike or to own it seems to get over in a few days. Some recent reports also suggested that the bike has started to roll out off the production line a few days back, which further confirmed that its official launch is round the corner. As per an anonymous source, Honda will be distributing the bikes in a premium format in 20 cities for which the respective buyers have to pay a particular booking amount for the bike.

For those who don't know, Honda CBR 650F is powered by a 649cc, inline four cylinder, four-stroke engine that comes linked to a six-speed transmission. The programmed fuel injected motor churns out a net power of 87bhp at 11,000 rpm along with a peak torque of 63Nm at 8,000 rpm. The bike gets 41mm telescopic forks up front and swingarm with 43.5mm stroke mono-shock at the rear to avail a stress-free and comfortable ride. The fierce stopping power is delivered by 320mm hydraulic disc brake with twin-piston calliper at the front and 240mm disc brake with single piston calliper at the rear end. The braking gets more refined with the incorporation of a high-performance Anti-Lock Braking System (ABS) to the package. Furthermore, the machine has been assisted with H.I.S.S. (Honda Ignition Security System) as well to prevent any mishap or theft.

Now coming to the price, most of us expected that Honda CBR 650F will sport a competitive price tag due to its local assembling. However, this is not true and the bike will be priced at somewhere between Rs. 7 lacs to Rs. 8 lacs (ex-showroom price) for the Indian market. The news has put many people to disappointment as you can get a Benelli 600GT or Kawasaki Ninja 650 at Rs. 5.15 lacs and Rs. 5.65 lacs (both prices, ex-showroom) respectively. So, to remain more competitive and promising in an economy sensitive country like India, the company needs to revise its plans and pricing of the above-stated bike.
