Honda CB Shine SP

After teasing the motorcycle as a mystery bike at the Honda RevFest in August 2015, Honda has finally launched CB Shine SP (Smart Power) at Rs. 59,900 in India, today. It is the updated version of existing CB Shine and is the 14th offering by Honda in the year 2015. The motorcycle gets its power from a 124.7cc, single-cylinder, four-stroke, air-cooled engine with Honda Eco Technology that comes mated to a 5-speed gearbox and generates a maximum power of 10.57 bhp with 10.3 Nm of peak torque.

CB Shine SP is priced at Rs. 59,900 for Self-Drum-Alloy, Rs. 62,400 for Self-Disc-Alloy and Rs. 64,400 for CBS trim (all prices ex-showroom, Delhi). It comes in 5 colors - Geny Grey Metalic, Athletic Blue Metallic, Pearl Amazing White, Black and Rebel Red Metallic.

At the launch event of CB Shine SP, Mr. Keita Muramatsu, President and CEO, HMSI hinted towards the launch of another motorcycle next month. The next offering from Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India Pvt. Ltd. (HMSI) is expected to be the much awaited Honda CB Hornet 160R. Mr. Muramatsu said, “While India is the World’s fastest growing economy, it is also home to one of the world's youngest populations. These youngsters recognise their ‘special’ place in society. The new CB Shine SP helps them reflect the same ‘special status’ and puts them a gear ahead of their peers. CB Shine SP is an extension of the ‘new era of motorcycling’ we had ushered in at the Honda RevFest 2015.”

Speaking at the event, Mr. Y. S. Guleria, Senior Vice-President, Sales and Marketing, HMSI, said, “With over 43 lac Happy customers, the legacy of Shine is undisputed. Though CB Shine enjoys 46% market share, our aim is to further strengthen Honda’s leadership position in 125cc segment. We are extending the family with this Pride and what we are showcasing today is the next step of this legacy.”
