HMSI (Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India) is going to increase prices for its bikes. The main reason of this price increment is rising raw material costs in the market. Honda bikes would now cost Rs. 700 to Rs. 900 more. At the beginning of the year, Hero Honda and Bajaj Auto hiked their bikes prices. The new prices will enforced from 21st February, 2011.

This increased price will be effected on all models of Honda. Right now the company has lots of bikes in its portfolio such a commuter, premium, semi-sports, sports and supersports. It is expected that this increased prices will be added in its upcoming most popular bike; Honda CBR 250R which is going to be launched in the month of April. Right now Honda is receiving booking orders for the bike at Rs. 5000, as an advance.

The other flagship models in India which are being offered by the company include Honda Twister, Honda Shine, Honda Activa, Honda Dio, Honda CBF Stunner, Honda Unicorn, Honda Dazzler, Honda CBR 1000RR, Honda CBR 1000R fireblade etc. And this year, Honda is planning to bring some more surprise for Indian bike lovers.

Follwing the bandwagon of price hiking, other motorcycle makers might also surprise the two-wheeler industry.
