Hero Dash to hit the Indian Roads soon, production started

The world’s largest two-wheeler manufacturer- Hero MotoCorp (HMCL) is all set to launch its first indigenous product, which is a 110cc automatic scooter- Dash. According to an anonymous source of Autocar Professional, the company has started production of the scooter at its Gurgaon facility. Another source is saying that the company will produce 30,000 to 35,000 units of it before the launch.

The first source told, “The production of the Maestro was later stopped to make way for producing the first batch of the new Dash model.”

“The company has been performing final road tests on the Dash model, and is now aiming to build a sizable inventory of 30,000-35,000 units before it commercially launches the same in the market. This is expected to happen very soon now. On the other hand, the Maestro continues to garner sales of close to 45,000 units per month,” said by another source.

Hero has already unveiled the Dash along with most of its specifications and features, and also exhibited it at the 2014 Indian Auto Expo. It features a digital analog console, key operated external fuel lid, Integrated Braking System (IBS), flushed choke cable, dual tone rear view mirrors, tubeless tyres, larger 12” front and 10” rear alloy wheels, LED tail lamp, underseat mobile charger, service due and side stand indicators, large boot space with lighting inside and telescopic front suspension.

The Hero Dash is powered by a new 110cc engine, developed with the new technology partners of the company. This new motor develops 8.5 bhp of maximum power, which is better than many other offerings in the competition. The scooter is expected to be priced around Rs. 48,000 and it will be positioned against the other family of scooters available in the market.
