After recalling a fatty lot of motorcycles for faultily mounted saddlebag issue in the previous month, the American cruiser bike manufacturer has again initiated a recall for its Street 750 and Street 500 models. Going by exact numbers, 10,500 units of Street 750 and Street 500 bikes have been recalled in US and India too has been affected by this. The Street 750s manufactured between May 12, 2014, and June 24, 2015, and Street 500 models manufactured between January 20, 2014, and June 24, 2015 will come under the recalling process.

As per National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, US, the bikes have been detected with a faulty fuel pump that might interrupt the fuel supply of the vehicle. This results in a delayed power delivery and retarded throttle response. Due to this, the rider is prone to a major life hazard and may lead to a dangerous crash unexpectedly. The manufacturer will contact the respective buyers and will replace the malfunctioning equipment free of cost.

The domestic division of Harley Davidson has also officially released a statement regarding this that states, “Harley-Davidson confirms that it has voluntarily recalled model year 2015 Harley-Davidson Street family vehicles, of which the XG750 model is available in India. We identified that some of the motorcycles may have a poor seal at the fuel pump inlet, and have announced the recall in the interest of customer safety. We are committed to correcting this issue and are working with our dealers in India to notify customers and request them to bring their motorcycles in for inspection."
