Pulsar RS 200 Crashes After Front Wheel Collapse, Bajaj Denies Manufacturing Error

The breaking of alloy wheels is a phenomenon, which is no less than a nightmare for everyone who rides a two-wheeler. Such incidents which happened numerous times in the past clearly puts a big question mark on the authenticity and safety norms of the vehicle manufacturers. Recently, we received a news of a Pulsar RS 200 getting miserably crashed on the highway when its rider applied the front disc brake. With the application of brakes, the front alloy wheel collapsed and came out, making the rider and his wife fell off giving some serious injuries.

As per the reports, Mohsin Patel, the owner of a newly purchased red Bajaj Pulsar RS 200 was riding along, with his wife as a pillion rider. He stated that as soon as he applied the front disc brake, the front alloy wheel crumbled all of a sudden and the couple fell on the tarmac with no idea of what has just happened. The duo was rushed to the nearest hospital and had been admitted by the authorities seeing the gravity of the case.

However, the way how the incident happened has put itself into a dark mystery circle. The rims were undamaged, but the spokes were crashed completely, which is an example of something we haven't seen or heard before. There might be a fair chance that someone tried to engage with the bike in an inappropriate manner in order to affect its functioning for some evil reason. Due to this, raising a finger on the Pune-based manufacturer won't be a justified thing as previously, many such cases were seen in which the vehicle owners demanded unreasonable compensation from their auto maker, saying it was a production error. 

Commenting on this, Bajaj Auto clearly denied the possibility of being found guilty in such a risky manufacturing error. The company stated that its “Fastest Pulsar yet” has been tested extensively in both, road and track riding conditions that majorly minimizes the chances of a mishap like this. They further conveyed that until and unless a very large external impact reaches the wheel, there is no such chance of it being wrecked into pieces. The direction of break in the wheel at the accident site is an evidence that it got cracked down with the involvement of an external force only. The P rated tyre has been tested for speeds up to 150kmph and the wheel rim combination cannot fail at speeds even beyond that.
