Bajaj Group donates Rs. 10 crore to Nepal Earthquake Relief Fund

Nepal has gone through so much this year, almost got drowned by the earthquake for which Bajaj Group has decided to contribute Rs. 10 crore to rebuild and rehabilitate. The aid is going to be routed via Prime Minister’s Relief Fund of India.

In a bid to help in the rehabilitation and rebuilding efforts for the earthquake affected in Nepal, Bajaj Group has announced a contribution of INR 10 Cr. to the relief fund. The aid will be routed through the Prime Minister’s Relief Fund of India.
A further sum of Rs 50 lakhs is provided to SEWA, an NGO dedicated to needy & self-employed women workers in Nepal, mainly directed to its cluster at Konkhana.

Mr. Rakesh Sharma, President – International Business for Bajaj Auto Ltd. said, “Nepal has seen an unprecedented disaster. In this time of distress we stand by our friends in Nepal and this contribution is a small reaffirmation of our commitment to the people of Nepal. Through our distributor M/S Hansraj Hulaschand, we are also ensuring that immediate relief is provided to the affected people.”

He further added,” Nepal is a very important country for Bajaj Auto and we have been there for more than 20 years. We have over 3.5 lakh Bajaj motorcycles on the country’s roads. We are working with our consumers, dealers and technicians towards the quick repair of damaged vehicles so that people can be mobile once again.”
Bajaj Auto’s motorcycles are widely available across 46 districts of Nepal through 175 dealerships and service centers which employ over 2000 persons.

The Bajaj group is amongst India’s largest and most reputed groups and has been actively involved in various CSR and philanthropic activities such as education, health, women empowerment and rural development.
