Bajaj Auto registered 5 percent two-wheeler sales growth in July 2015

The Pune-based automaker- Bajaj Auto has reported a two-wheeler sales growth of 5 percent in the month of July 2015. The company sold 2,82,433 units in July 2015 against the 2,67,841 units sold in the corresponding month last year. The two-wheeler sales of the company come only from the motorcycle segment, which makes it the second largest motorcycle brand in India.

Export of Bajaj Auto seen a fall of 7 percent this time with 47,798 units sold during the month of July 2015. In July 2014, its export figure was 51,451 units with a tremendous growth of 49 percent. Currently, Bajaj is the third largest two-wheeler manufacturer in the country without any offering in the rapidly growing scooter segment. However, the company has understood that it can only regain its lost position in the market with automatic scooters.

In a recent interaction with Business Standard, Mr Rajiv Bajaj (Managing Director of Bajaj Auto) also hinted over introducing a new product in the scooter segment. According to some reports, this new product could get an old name- Chetak, which has been associated with the company since 1979.

Bajaj Auto is also offering some products in the commercial vehicle segment, in which the company registered a decline of 7 percent. Hence, the overall growth of the company stood at 3 percent in July 2015.
