
The Japanese two-wheeler major, Yamaha had launched the SZ and SZ-X series bikes with the aim of filling the gap between their performance oriented FZ series and the long suffering commuters. The launch of FZ series had touched the right chords of the Indian consumer and the company was expecting the same success story to be repeated. But the newly launched SZ sisters lacked the disc brakes which may create a major problem, especially during monsoons.

Harley Davidson is setting up a Harley Owners Group, HOG in India recently. The said group, HOG is a sponsored community marketing club which is operated by the company, Harley Davidson for its enthusiastic owners. Mr. Sanjay Tripathi (Director Marketing) of Harley Davidson said that the company is planning to start the HOG in October 2010. He further says that anyone who buys a Harley Davidson bike becomes the member of the Harley Owners Group automatically. Mr. Tripathi did not disclose the details of the number of bikes sold by the company through its four dealerships in India last year. Further he says that they will soon disclose the number. In India the company formally entered last year only with its first dealership in Hyderabad. Mr. Tripathi said that before entering also there were 200 HD bikes in India. The price band for the Harley Davidson bikes in India ranges from Rs. 7 lakh to Rs. 35 lakh. The company has started its operation in India after the Government of India allowed the import of high-capacity powered two-wheelers in 2007 from the US. The company Harley Davidson is paying 110 percent duty on the import of each bike. There are four dealerships of Harley Davidson in India i.e. Delhi, Hyderabad, Chandigarh and Mumbai. The company is planning to open one more dealership in Bangalore this month.

Hero Honda Motors Limited is all set to launch five new bikes across segments in the Indian market by the end of this current financial year (2010-11). The company has just launched its latest offering " new Hero Honda Super Splendor on 2th September, 2010 in the country. Anil Dua, senior vice president, marketing and sales, said," We have already launched 2 bikes this fiscal. We are rolling out one bike today and five more motorcycles will be launched in the rest of the fiscal." The new version of Hero Honda Super Splendor would be more fuel efficiency and excellent performer than the existing model.

Hero Honda Motors, one of the largest two-wheeler producer, today launched the new version of its most selling motorcycle in India, Hero Honda Super Splendor. The base model of Super Splendor had launched in 2005 in the premium segment (125cc). The new upgraded version of Super Splendor is launched with cutting-edge technology and ahead generation design which make it stylish bike. After the launch of the new variant, Hero Honda will phase out the old horse.

This music for the Harley Rock Riders tour which start from 9 September to 4th December. The three months rock tour will touch upon the five cities that Harley Davidson has already has its dealer, the five major cities are New Delhi, Chandigarh, Mumbai, Hyderabad and Bangalore.
The upcoming entry level street bike by KTM finally found his name as KTM 125 Duke. The KTM 125 Duke name selected by the company after a lot of research. Earlier the company also held a contest on Facebook to find a name for the new bike where the name 'Avatar' was selected by most of the voters. It expected that KTM 125 Duke will launch in European two wheeler market by the month of March 2011. KTM 125 duke first showed at EICMA with two more variants named as "Race" and "Stunt".

Mahindra Two Wheelers, a part of the US $7.1 billion Mahindra Group, has further consolidated its presence in the two wheeler segment, with record sales of 15,165 units in August 2010.
Mahindra Two Wheelers today announced that its sales for the month of August 2010 stood at 15165 units, as against 4005 units in August 2009, an increase of 279%.
Total cumulative sales from April to August 2010 stood at 54261 units, as compared to 12948 units for the same period last year, an increase of 319%.
